Topicfire fighting
ContentI have always known that Fort Sill was an Army installation, but not until the last 11 years did I know it was an artilery installation. I have observed several fires being started by training operations over that time, and of course the California fires reminds us how small fires can become big one. As well I do recall special munitions of past wars dropped acclerant to create fires, but has anyone done the reverse. Use a liquid de-accelerant or fluid that when at a prescribed distance from the ground and at a calculated location around a fire, a series of shells could be planted to allow this fluid to fill the area absorbing both heat, oxygen, and even a retardant of othe sort. The liquid would be heavier than air at first to fill the landscape and spread rapidly, but would evaporate or be absorbed in the ground hopefully benefitially. Something as simple as liquid air with a reduced O2 presents.. The ordinance could be dilivered quickly to remote areas using artilery or aircraft. Might work.. need to find the right stuff to deliver and then the right shell casing.
