TopicReform the Central Purchasing Act to make state purchasing more cost effective
ContentReform the state’s procurement procedures by creating more effective purchasing practices via e-procurement while maintaining high-quality government services to the state. The only obstacle in the way of going to an e-procurement system is a provision in the Oklahoma Central Purchasing Act that requires all bidders to submit a notarized sworn statement attachment to each bid. Enacting this reform would lower prices charged to the state and provide better services through increased competition. It would also improve vendor diversity and provide more access for smaller businesses. It would also save resources and by reducing paperwork.
