TopicNew Criminal Law Video Voyeurism
ContentThere is a strong argument that Oklahoma's Title 21 O.S. § 1171; Use of Video Equipment for a Lascivious purpose statute does not cover Video Voyeurism or "Up Skirting" as it is commonly called. It should be amended to do so. Other states have experienced this same problem with their statutes . In State v. Glass, 54 P3d 147 (2002) the Washington State Supreme Court found that the Washington state case did not cover this activity. Tulsa County has had a video voyerism case dismissed because the statute does not cover that behavior.
